Visit to the Beatson

Friday the 18th July saw myself, Stevie Potter and Stevie Haining visit the Beatson, West of Scotland Cancer Centre to hand over the first installment of this years fundraising, a cheque for £2,053.00!

As I’m sure, by now, you will be aware we have adopted the Beatson Cancer Charity as our charity to fundraise for. To date we have handed over just over £7k in the past 3 years for this wonderful charity and have built up a great relationship with them and their army of supporters and volunteers.

It was an absolute pleasure handing over the cheque to fundraising Manager Siobhan O’Hara, who made us most welcome at the centre and gave a tour of the facilities to show us where our money will be going.

A huge thank you to all who have made a donation to our fundraising efforts this year and previous years and a personal thank you to all the team who’ve trained hard for the events and helped raise this fantastic total. We still have a few events to go this year and hope to add to the total already handed over. The next event is the Graeme Obree Sportive which consists of a tough 78 miles with nearly 6,000 feet of climbing! It’s going to be a toughie but you just have to look at the obstacles those faced with Cancer have to overcome and realise how insignificant our obstacle of a few miles and few feet of climbing really is!

If you haven’t managed to Sponsor us yet and would like to you can make a donation on our Just Giving Page or to any member of the team.
