Warriors Hand over £2,500

Today Chris, Stevie Potter and myself, respresenting the Whitelee Warriors, headed into the Beaston to present the final total for 2015.

I’m proud to announce that the total we raised in 2015 for the Beatson Cancer Charity was £2,500 which brings the total we’ve handed over in the past 4 years to a whopping £11,461.35!!!!

We were actually £83.00 short of the £2.5k mark then one of our riders Ally Menzies very generously stumped up the £83.00 which was an awesome gesture!

We met Kirsty at the Welcome Desk on the first floor of the Beaston and headed up to the Wellbeing Centre where we were welcomed by the staff and volunteers before sitting down to a cuppa and a chat, discussing our plans for 2016.

I can’t say too much but something exciting may be on the cards in partnership with the Whitelee Warriors and the Beatson Cancer Center in 2016. It’s still early days and in the planning stage but we’ll keep you posted!

It’s been a great year, training hard, socialising hard, meeting new people and most importantly raising money for the wonderful Beatson Cancer Charity!

I would personally like to say a big thank you to all the Whitelee Warriors for the effort and dedication they show every year, this year being no exception. I’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who have supported us, our family and friends. Many a time wives and partners have been left to deal with the kids etc while we head out on a 4hr+ training ride.

Not forgetting our sponsors Gadget Doctor Scotland, Spice, BSL, Big Bobble Hats, IsleBay Ltd and IWS.

A big thank you has to go to The Cycle Jersey and it’s owner Brian, our official kit supplier. Brian and his team have been great designing and producing our kit, listening to our every need and putting up with my endless emails! The service and quality of kit produced by Brian and his team is second to none! We’ve had 3 suppliers over our 4 year existence and The Cycle Jersey have been the best by far for quality and serivce. If you’re looking for custom kit then I highly recommend them!

Lastly a huge thank you to each and every one of you who have put your hand in your pocket in support of us. We do the easy bit, the hard bit is digging deep and parting with your hard earned cash, and for that we are very greatful.

We’ll be back next year fresh and ready to raise even more money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. We have new riders, Andy Taylor, Hugh Whitelaw and Ally Menzies in our team all eager to help fundraise.
