Wild Wild West

I woke up yesterday morning and looked out the window and was presented with a lovely morning, which lasted into the afternoon and, yip you’ve got it, ended by the time I headed out on the bike!

As is now traditional for a Wednesday evening, I headed out on the bike on my lonesome. The clear skies and mild temperatures of during the day had now disappeared and it was now cold, wet and windy! I got kitted up and set out on the road, nearly turning back early on due to the driving rain and wind. I was struggling to see where I was going at points as I don’t wear glasses at night when it’s wet as the car headlights multiply rendering me blind. Anyway after downing a quick can of MAN UP I continued on my way racking up 23.35 miles in the process!

Was chuffed with the pedal as I had averaged 15.3mph and completed the 23.35 miles in a time of 1:31:23 in the wet and windy conditions.

Am I mental? NO! I am just dedicated to raising money for Friends of the Beatson, a worthy Cancer charity.

So far this month I have racked up 129.63 miles and 52.41 virtual miles (Turbo Trainer).

On a brighter note, I received an email from MBUK yesterday saying I had won last months competition and that a hydration pack was on it’s way to me! Great timing as I was needing to replace my Camelbak.
